If you live in or around the New Tampa area Flatwoods Wilderness Park  is a must visit. Whether you like to bicycling, rollerblading, conoeing or walking it’s a great place for the entire family.

The public access areas encompass approximately 16,000 acres. Areas such as the Trout Creek, Morris Bridge, and the Flatwoods, John B. Sergeant, Sr. Memorial, Dead River sites are in the public accessible areas. Most of the sites have water, bathrooms, parking, picnic tables and pavilions, and other facilities. Bicycling, hiking, canoeing, critter watching, and picnicking are the main activities that are available. Bicycling is accessible through Flatwoods, Morris Bridge and Trout Creek.

The Flatwoods section has a 9 mile paved loop trail for bicycles, rollerbladers, walkers, and joggers.  There are miles of off-road (dirt) bicycle trails throughout this area, as well as picnic tables, visitors center, restrooms and 4 rest area with ice cold water. 

The Morris Bridge Area provides access to the Hillsborough River. The facility has picnic tables, restrooms, boardwalks, nature trails, boat ramp (small boats and canoes), docks and has a fresh water fishing area. Morris Bridge Area has access to miles of off-road bicycle trails; ranging from beginner to advanced.

The John B. Sergeant, Sr. Memorial area is located at the intersection of the Hillsborough River and Flint Creek. Picnic Tables, canoe launch, restrooms, dock, boardwalk, and a fishing pier are available. A youth camping area is located at the Dead River site. Picnic area, restrooms, nature trails, and fishing are a part of the facility.

The Trout Creek area is located on the north side of Fletcher 1/2 mile east of 75. The facility has picnic tables, bike washing rack and miles of off-road bicycle trails.
